Crewmembers Have Heart
Treasure Bay crewmembers,
along with family and friends, enjoyed a Saturday morning at Jones Park for the annual Heart Walk — celebrating Coast-wide efforts to raise awareness and funds to fight heart disease and stroke. Once again among the top three fundraising companies, Treasure Bay raised more than
$12,000 for the American Heart Association through months of fundraising, including sales of the company’s Heart Walk T-shirt. Crewmembers who couldn’t attend, including Melanie Torres (above), showed their support by wearing their shirts at work during the walk weekend.
Pearl River Resort helps with Diamond Dreams
CHOCTAW — The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians and Pearl River Resort stepped up to the plate once again in October to continue their support as co-sponsors of Diamond Dreams, a baseball/softball league founded in 2010 for children with special needs in Philadelphia and Neshoba County.
The first pitch was thrown out by Choctaw Indian Princess Lexi Camille Rodriguez, a senior at Choctaw Central High School. Resort associates came out to cheer on the young athletes. Pearl River Resort treated the players to a meal after the game.
The evening ended with a fireworks display presented by Tribal Chief Cyrus Ben and a dinner for the athletes.

Change Adds Up
Palace Casino Resort donated thousands of dollars to two area organizations. The St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy received $26,307.75 and the Biloxi Little Theatre received $20,309.51. The donation amounts were
awarded on behalf of the resort’s customers who chose to donate their change
instead of receiving coins when cashing out their winnings at the slot ticket redemption kiosks in the casino. Palace General Manager Keith Crosby presented the donations to Sam Burke (above), executive director, St. Vincent de
Paul, and LaWanda Jones, president, Biloxi Little Theatre.
Packing Potatoes
Hard Rock Biloxi partnered with Feeding the Gulf Coast at the close of the recent
Associated Wholesale Grocers Food Show in Biloxi. Hard Rock volunteers broke down displays from the food show and helped to box up the items, including sweet potatoes pictured here, to be donated to area food banks.
