Casinos participate in March of the Mayors
GULF COAST — During the recent March of the Mayors food drive, cities along the Gulf Coast were assigned a different food item to collect. Casinos jumped in with donations, which were then given to area food pantries.
Boomtown Casino Biloxi and sister property Hollywood Gulf Coast participated in the Biloxi March of the Mayors drive, collecting bags of beans. Also in Biloxi, Treasure Bay collected one-pound bags of beans. In addition to donating bags, crewmembers could make a cash donation that was matched dollar-for-dollar by the Treasure Bay Charitable Committee to purchase more beans. A total of 400 bags were collected at Treasure Bay.
Pasta was the food item being collected in D’Iberville. Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort donated 1,000 pounds of pasta to the food drive.
