“
I love being tasked with
the challenge of cooking or
preparing something new or
unfamiliar to me.

— Jackie Seavey
Face of Culinary Excellence Jacqueline “Jackie” Seavey
No matter where Jacqueline “Jackie” Seavey has lived through her adulthood, she has continuously found herself lured back to the Missis- sippi Gulf Coast. Originally from Maryland, as a child, Seavey moved to the Coast with her American father and Thai mother. Ever since then, she has loved its beauty and hospitality.
Since 2006, Seavey has worked as the executive sous chef at Island View Casino Resort with Executive Chef David Crabtree. They worked together beforehand and knew that their cooking styles complemented each other, and that working relationship has remained strong. Even today, they continue to feature original recipes they have created over the years and still have several members of their original sta .
While Seavey has done many incredible things throughout her career, her proudest accomplishment was winning the 2018 World Food Championships and the grand prize of $100,000. The World Food Championships is the largest food competition of its kind, and in do- ing this, she and her team beat out dozens of teams of challengers in multiple levels of competition.
After so much success, it is no surprise that Seavey’s words to live by are “You are capable of doing anything you set your mind to.” She certainly has shown this to be true!
She and her husband, John, have four adult children, Maureen, Laura, Sydney, and Erik, and four grandchildren.
