MISSISSIPPI — St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner bringing with it thoughts of four-leaf clovers, lucky leprechauns and pots of gold — or,
in some cases, pots of bonus slot
play and cash. While St. Patrick’s
Day is Tuesday, March 17, there
are a number of casino promotions throughout the month to help
to mark the holiday. There are even dining and drink specials — like the Shamrock Breeze daiquiri at Magnolia Bluffs Casino Hotel in Natchez.
Silver Slipper Casino
Players can win up to $1,000 Free Slot Play in the Pot Of Gold Kiosk Game at Silver Slipper Casino Hotel. On March 17, players club members who earn 1,000 tier points can play the kiosk game from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. See Player Services for details.
Island View Casino
Island View Casino Resort has a few events for the holiday. First, everyone is a winner in the Hot Button promotion. On Sundays, March 15 and March 29, from noon to 8 p.m., everyone gets one hit of the Hot Button for a chance to win up to $1,000 in Slot View Play or some other exciting prize. No points are needed to play.
And the pot at the end of the rainbow
is filled with Leprechaun Loot Payouts. On Monday and Tuesday, March 16-17, winners selected every 20 minutes from 4 to 10 p.m. at both Island View and Beach View casinos will place gold coins in up to three pots. After picking their pots, winners will spin the wheel to see which pot holds the lucky loot for a chance to
win up to $1,000.
Restaurants also show their St.
Patrick’s spirit with Irish specialties on March 17. The Buffet will offer Irish specialties, including Guinness beef stew, shepherd’s pie, sausage with sauerkraut, corned steamship of corned beef and traditional smothered cabbage. Also enjoy all the traditional favorites from the Asian, Southern, and Italian stations. And for the finale don’t forget the house-made gelatos, custards and ice creams from The Creamery. The Buffet’s St. Patrick’s Day menu will be available from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.,
by a Reuben sandwich with spinach, served with onion rings and coleslaw. The holiday meal will be served from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. for $17.
At C&G Grille, start with either a garden salad, seafood gumbo or soup of the day, followed by tender corned beef nested over a spinach potato pancake, served with cabbage and carrots. This Irish entree is available from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. for $17.
Dockside Deli is serving a St. Patrick’s Day meal from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. for $21. Start with either beer and Irish cheddar soup or a house salad. Then choose an entree of either corned beef brisket with cabbage, colcannon potatoes and carrots, served with corn pudding or shepherd’s pie, made with ground lamb, pearl onions and carrots in a rich rosemary demi-glace topped with Irish cheddar, a parsnip and potato mash. For dessert, there is carrot cake.
Guests must be 21 to dine at Island View.
