Treat Dad to special meal worthy of the day
MISSISSIPPI — Dads are known for appreciating a good meal, and chefs at your favorite casinos are preparing Father’s Day specials worthy of the occasion. From buffet spreads and cafe dinners to steakhouse specialties, guests will find plenty of ways to celebrate the fathers in their lives. Father’s Day is Sunday, June 21, though some specials will also be available Saturday, June 20.
Silver Slipper Casino
Silver Slipper Casino Hotel has choices Dad is sure to love. In the Jubilee Buffet ($69.95), the weekend Dungeness buffet is Friday, June 19, from 4 to 10 p.m. Treat Dad to all-you-can-eat Dungeness, snow and blue crab, along with Jonah claws and boiled jumbo shrimp. All the buffet’s favorites will also be served, including salads, entrees and desserts.
There are two specials in the Blue Bayou Bar & Grill. The steakhouse omelet features sliced filet tips and caramelized onions and mushrooms topped with Gruyere cheese sauce. Also offered are shrimp and grits steakhouse style: jumbo Gulf shrimp, smoked tasso cream and stoneground grits topped with a fried egg.

Island View Casino
Make Father’s Day memorable with weekend dining specials at Island View Casino Resort. All specials are offered on June 20-21. Guests must be 21.
C&G Grille, located in Island View Casino, wants to treat Dad like a king this holiday with a celebratory meal ($28) served from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The meal begins with a choice of Caesar salad or seafood gumbo. Then let Dad choose an entree of either twin tournedos of beef
tenderloin, USDA choice beef grilled to order and topped with bearnaise sauce, or crab-stuff speckled trout, Gulf trout fillets stuffed with crawfish dressing, baked and topped with a seafood sauce. Both meals served with asparagus. Enjoy carrot cake for dessert.
Carter Green Steakhouse will also be serving up what Dad likes from 5 to 10 p.m. both June 20-21. Start the meal ($55) with a choice

Palace Casino Resort
Celebrate Father’s Day at Palace Casino Resort where the Palace Buffet has a special meal for the June 21 holiday. In the buffet ($43 with players
club card, $45 without), a holiday menu featuring draft beer, prime rib, smoked turkey, grilled pineapple- chicken kabobs, smoked chicken jalapeno, grilled chop steak and crawfish — along with all the best from the Grill, Comfort, Wok and Coastal stations — will be offered. There will also be a variety of desserts and salads. The buffet
is served 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Scarlet Pearl Casino
At Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort, Under the Oak Cafe has a Father’s Day special featuring shrimp and ribs. The platter ($39) includes fried gulf shrimp and a half-rack of smoked ribs along with loaded potato salad, seasoned fries and smokehouse beans. For dessert, enjoy a slice of chocolate eclair cake ($12): layers of pâte à choux, vanilla pastry cream and rich chocolate.
Ameristar Casino Hotel
Ameristar Casino Hotel has a special Father’s Day family brunch in the Heritage Buffet. Open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the buffet features favorites, including salads, vegetables, entrees and sweet desserts. On Father’s Day, the buffet is open to the public with minors welcome this day.

Beach Blvd Steamer offers Dad mouthwatering fare ($25) from 5 to 10 p.m. that is sure to please. Begin the meal with a starter of either of house chop salad or Caesar salad. For the main course, select either half rack ribs or two pounds of peel and eat royal red shrimp, both served with a choice of side and Steamer rolls. For dessert, there is the tangy key lime tart.
Beau Rivage
While Dads don’t exactly get pampered like Moms, they do like a good meal. Beau Rivage’s Stalla is featuring a special prix fixe meal ($68) on June 21 devised by Chef Christian Cheskevick. Stalla will be open 4:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Start with an appetizer of seared diver scallops and parmesan risotto with butternut squash, asparagus, guanciale (pork) and pesto. Follow that with a 12-ounce, 18-day dry-aged New York strip steak with four Gulf shrimp with pecans and blue crab butter whipped garlic mash and asparagus. Dad can finish off the meal with an Italian limoncello
and hollandaise.
