Dominick’s: rich in history, big on flavor
TUNICA — Located upstairs just off the casino floor at Fitz Casino & Hotel, Dominick’s Food + Spirits stands as a tribute to the legacy of Dominick Scudiero, whose life journey inspired this new dining experience that is both rich in history and big on flavor.
The restaurant opened its doors this spring with a ribbon- cutting hosted by Fitz GM and VP Tony Scudiero, and blends Italian-American cuisine inspired by his father with regional Southern favorites.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The eatery’s ambiance is steeped in nostalgia, with brick walls adorned with black- and-white photographs capturing Dominick’s life—from his humble beginnings to his rise as a beloved restauranteur. The images, illuminated by soft pendant lighting, tell stories of good times and generosity, reflecting his tenure as the Inferno Lounge’s manager in Kansas City. The upholstered booths and wooden tables create an intimate setting, while the bar area showcases an impressive array of spirits, enhancing the sophisticated yet approachable vibe.
Dominick’s menu reflects Scudiero’s passion for simple, hearty dishes. Signature offerings include spaghetti and meatballs, a nod to his favorite meal. For lunch and dinner, there is a great selection of steaks, Italian favorites like Fettuccine Alfredo and baked ziti, as well as herb crusted salmon and Southern favorites like fried catfish and shrimp- and-grits. Handhelds include a hamburger, BLT, chicken and catfish sandwiches, as well as a meatball sandwich and a nostalgic classic - a fried bologna sandwich. About a dozen mouth-watering side items are also on the menu.
Dessert options include a New York-style cheesecake, hot skillet peach cobbler, bread pudding, lemon cake and the Chocolate Trilogy.
