FAR LEFT: MOSS POINT MAYOR Mario King, Moss Point’s New Look is Economic Development.
ABOVE TOP: THINK BIG Economic Development starts here with new automotive dealerships on their way.
The I-10/Highway 63 and Highway 613 Corridors are Mississippi’s eastern gateways to regional employment centers, recreation, and entertainment. This area is Moss Point’s prominent commercial and regional transportation hub, booming with retail stores, restaurants, banking, service providers, airport, industrial employers, top-tier automotive dealerships, and new business opportunities.
The I-10/Highway 613 Corridor is the region’s “green” corridor, which offers scenic landscapes and quick access to rivers, bayous, nature tourism attractions, and other activities that position Moss Point as the Epicenter of Outdoor Adventure. Ideal prospective businesses include restaurants, outfitters, furniture retailers, miscellaneous retail and clothing and shoe merchandisers.
Moss Point businesses and residents alike benefit from local organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce and Main Street program. “Our partnership with the Chamber of Commerce has been meaningful through their advocacy for Moss Point, engaged committees and outreach,
including the Quarterly Coffee with the Mayor program sponsored by the Moss Point Area Council,” says Mayor King.
The Chamber provides the structure for business and community leadership to connect, and the platform for those leaders to speak on issues and opportunities that will bring about a stronger economy and better community. Over 75 Moss Point businesses are members of the Chamber and benefit from education, training, and networking events.
The Chamber works hand-in-hand with the Main Street program to implement economic development strategy. “The Main Street is responsible for brand and asset development, promoting business partnerships and initiating city projects, such as Park Street and Audubon Way, which will enhance the city,” Mayor King said. “The city has invested millions of dollars in infrastructure
and downtown amenities for the Main Street program to leverage and build upon.”
