cean Springs is known as the “City of Discovery,” an idea
that the Ocean Springs Chamber-Main Street-Tourism Bureau has worked into its marketing campaigns. “I Love
OS is all about celebrating the community that is Ocean Springs,” said Ocean Springs Chamber-Main Street-Tourism Bu-
reau Executive Director Cynthia Dobbs Sutton. “Everything we do as a chamber is about promoting the cultural aspects of the community and expressing the city’s vibrant quality of life.”
While the city’s marketing campaigns have been incredibly successful in bringing in tourists and visitors, I Love OS is something that Ocean Springs residents themselves take to heart. “We aren’t just a city, we’re a community,” Sutton said. “We have great businesses here, but it takes the dedication of the business owners and the patronage of the commu- nity to help them thrive. Our city has a great backbone, and we hope that the walkability of the city and the heart of its people will continue to encourage locals and tourists alike to come shop, eat and stay in Ocean Springs.”
Ocean Springs has its own charm and character that is enriched by the people and history that have made the community what it is today. “Ocean Springs has proven that its downtown district alone is always alive,” says Sutton. “With very few vacant buildings in downtown, it appears as an outdoor shopping center filled with all locally-owned businesses.”
Thanks to establishments like the Walter Anderson Museum of Art to the Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center and the thriving Ocean Springs Art Association, which encompasses hundreds of working artists, the business vibe throughout town is welcoming, growing and holds an entrepreneurial spirit like no other.
“Our entertainment district is second to none and attracts travelers from around the globe,” said Ocean Springs Mayor Shea Dobson. “Our festivals highlight everything our city has to offer and showcases our beautiful downtown. Beautification efforts are important to ensure our best foot is always put forward and we keep our downtown the quality destination it is today.”
