Everyone has dealt with the state’s Safer-at-Home orders di erently, some picking up new hobbies while others got to work on much overdo home repairs and remodels. Friends Karri Bunn-Holmes and Cherie Henderson took to the trees.
“My best friend and I took eclectic lanterns and an old chandelier and decided to bring love and light to my trees,” said Bunn-Holmes of the project, which unfolded at her waterfront Gautier home. “These lanterns were found all over my house, shed, and my mother’s garage. Over 20 lanterns were hung in various water oak, maple, magnolia, live oak, cypress and sycamore trees.”
They named the project “Love and Light,” a perfect description of the vision brought to life by the two friends. “It’s so beautiful during the day and magical at night,” said Bunn-Holmes. “And if you were wondering, my husband, Brian, didn’t mind what we did as long as we did the work ourselves! We are women – hear us roar. He was absolutely blown away when he rst saw the project at night.”
