IT CAN BE D NE:
date nights under $50
story by Kelsey Sunderman-Foster
Whether it’s your first date or your 50th anniversary, date nights are an important part of maintaining a relationship. Here on the Coast, there are so many creative dating opportunities outside of the traditional dinner and a movie. From Pinterest-fueled adventures to local sights and sounds, spending time with the special person in your life has never been easier. Though the possibilities are endless, we hope our list of date night ideas under $50 will help to get the ball rolling.
CREATIVE DATE NIGHTS
The Penny Date
Get ready to hit the road with this exciting date night idea! Once you and your partner are dressed and ready for your big date, ask him or her to choose a number between 10 and 20. This number will be the number of times that you flip your penny. From the time you leave your driveway, each junction you reach will be decided by flipping your penny with heads being right and tails, left. Once you’ve reached your magic number, stop and make a date right where you are. You may even stumble upon a new restaurant neither of you have tried.
The Popsicle Stick Date
Grab a handful of popsicle sticks in four different colors and divide them into groups. Each color will represent
a different kind of date: stay home (no cost), indoor outing (cost involved), outdoor activity (no cost) and outdoor activity (cost involved). Once you’ve
got your groups separated, write down a different date on each one. Some examples would be having an indoor picnic, playing miniature golf or going on a bike ride. Place your popsicle sticks in a jar and grab one whenever you’re looking for a fresh new date night idea.
