Evergreen owner Ken Williams owns other restaurants but serves brunch only at Evergreen. “At Evergreen, brunch is less of a meal and more of a dreamy Sunday poem—slow, soulful, and a little bit bohemian,” he says. “We honor the classics with just enough flair to make your grandma proud and your foodie friend want to take photos. Surrounded by art, good vibes, and the hum of easy conversation, it’s the kind of place where time forgets to hurry.”
Williams believes brunch has always been popular and is basically a Southern love language—a slow, social ritual where comfort food, conversation, and hospitality come together with really great cocktails. “We are always evolving our menu, but brunch pretty much stays the same,” he says.
At Greenhouse Biloxi, diners will enjoy coffee with all the various house-made syrups and deep-dish quiche with thick house-made crusts. First opened in Ocean Springs where only biscuits were served, Greenhouse relocated to Biloxi where they have a big enough kitchen to make many dishes.
“A favorite is candied bacon, sweet potato biscuit with ham and pimento cheese, and our chicken salad with warm Indian spice flies off the shelve,” says owner Kate Sukiennik. “We are a coffee shop that serves breakfast foods and sandwiches.”
Staying true to their coffee house roots, Greenhouse Biloxi features a zodiac specialty coffee for all birthday signs. “I love to make people’s days better,” Sukiennik says. “If their days are going well, we can amp it up one more notch. It’s important to feed people, and we like doing it well.”
For Scott and Rachel Plauche, a young couple armed with culinary experience and a vision to have their own restaurant, the dream came true when they opened the Brewpaddle Cafe inside the Bella Hotel in Biloxi two years ago.
“We had a strong desire to find a balance between our passion for food and hospitality and our love for our family,” Rachel Plauche says. “Very quickly an idea began to grow in our heads and hearts for a café and coffee shop where we could create the food and environment we love while still honoring our core values as a family with two young children.”
She lists some of the favorite dishes at Brewpaddle: corn beef hash made from their own cooked whole brisket, croque madame sandwich, breakfast plate, and their hamburger.
An Ocean Springs tradition and all-around favorite, Phoenicia has attracted diners from across the area for 27 years. The name and elegant setting reflect Phoenician history dating back to 7,000 B.C. The Phoenicians settled on the coast of Lebanon around 3,000 B.C., according to owner Sam Sabagh. “We do our cooking with love and care providing you with the best quality and freshest ingredients available,” he says.
Some of the favorites are crab cakes Benedict, eggs Sardou, a variety of omelets, pecan waffles, and pancakes along with blueberry and German apple pancakes, he says.
