CASINO DINING GUIDE
Bubba Gump, from Page 19
the fried catfish dinner (add rice and red beans for an extra treat); the bourbon- glazed grilled salmon; and the Dixie-style pork ribs in a sweet, tangy barbecue sauce. The cooking process for the ribs from start to finish takes more than 24 hours, but it clearly pays off with in the way the tender, flavorful meat just falls off the bone.
The restaurant also offers an array of soups and salads, including the strawberry salad (mixed greens, grilled chicken or
shrimp, strawberries, apples, feta and glazed pecans in a raspberry vinaigrette), plus appetizers, including shrimp mac and cheese, fried chicken and pickles, calamari and the Bubba’s Far Out dip (spinach, artichokes, tomatoes and cheese served with tortilla chips).
Diners will also enjoy a shrimp po-boy, all-American cheeseburger, ribeye dinner with grilled shrimp,
and jambalaya. The spicy and savory jambalaya, a popular Southern rice
dish, is loaded with shrimp, big pieces
of andouille sausage and tasso ham,
plus chicken, peppers, onions and tomatoes.
And as the name implies, there is shrimp: grilled shrimp, fried shrimp, coconut shrimp, tempura shrimp, stuffed shrimp, spicy shrimp and shrimp scampi. There is also boiled shrimp in your choice of a garlic-style boil or Cajun boil. Along with the succulent boiled shrimp, this entrée includes snow crab legs, andouille sausage medallions, corn on the cob and red potatoes. This one-pot dish is delicious for shrimp and crab leg enthusiasts. In fact, Bubba Gump is the only place at Golden Nugget to get crab legs.
And if you are wondering if we selected the garlic or Cajun boil for our shrimp and crab, we’ll let you in on a little secret. You can get your boil mixed, giving each bite the ideal amount of garlic and Cajun flavor. That’s how we did it.
And, while savoring the last bites of

Cajun-garlic potato, we started thinking about the dessert we would have — strawberry shortcake topped with vanilla ice cream, strawberries and whipped cream. It was a delightful way to end a night of delicious dining.
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. may be known for its shrimp, but the restaurant has a whole lot more to offer. The food is a wonderful, the servers are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is just what Forrest Gump would want in a restaurant named for his “best good friend.”
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. is open for lunch and dinner Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. There is also a retail shop with a selection of Bubba Gump merchandise and gifts and daiquiri bar at the front of the restaurant.
