Golden Nugget’s Bubba Gump has shrimp and so much more
  BILOXI — If you’ve seen the 1994 movie Forrest Gump, you are probably familiar with the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. in Bayou La Batre, Alabama, co-owned by Forrest and Lt. Dan. And you might even remember Jenny, Bubba and Mama Gump, and the rendition of the many ways to prepare shrimp. The Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. inside Golden Nugget Biloxi has memories of the movie with dishes named after the characters, photos
from Forrest’s life and a down- home atmosphere reminiscent of the movie’s setting.
But even if you have never seen the Academy Award- winning film, a visit to Bubba Gump for a meal is a worthwhile endeavor — especially with new menu items and cool summer drinks. Dine inside the highly decorated, spacious restaurant or outside on a patio that offers great views overlooking the resort’s H2O pool.
We took to the patio for a recent dinner, and started the night with one of the “sun’s out, rum’s out” festive cocktails, the Island Tai’M. With three kinds of rum (spiced, dark and coconut) mixed with pineapple juice and orange juice, this really brought us to island time, a time
