and beef finished with a barbecue-ranch sauce) and the taco (enchilada sauce, beef, cheese, shredded lettuce and pico de gallo). We enjoyed the vegetarian flatbread with Alfredo sauce, cheese, mushrooms, onions, peppers, roasted tomatoes and olives — all baked on a thin, crispy crust. Be prepared for all the cheesy goodness as the “cheese pull quotient” is quite high. Share a flatbread as an appetizer, or dine on one as a meal.
Salads are made to impress, and include the Southern Cobb with fried chicken; the Island Run Down (coconut shrimp, grilled pineapple and pecan halves); the chef; and a new Jackpot! favorite, the seared salmonGreek.Listentothis:Greenstopped with feta cheese, olives, pepperoncinis, red onions, pickled onions and cucumbers tossed in the house-made Greek dressing. The seared salmon on this salad is some
of the best salmon we’ve had, perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. Salmon lovers will no doubt enjoy this meal.
Daily specials include the Philly cheese steak on Tuesdays, crispy soft shell po’ boy on Friday, fresh-catch sandwich on Saturday and the salmon burger on Wednesday. This patty, made of choice salmon pieces, features no fillers and is served with grilled pineapple, teriyaki glaze, spicy mayo and thick-cut fried onion straws on a brioche bun. A great taste for those looking for a different kind of burger.
The food we tried was so satisfying, we skipped dessert; but that shouldn’t always be the case. There is chocolate cake, pecan pie, cheesecake and banana pudding. And while we said no to cake, we said yes to daiquiris at Gulf Breeze Daiquiris, the casino daiquiri bar adjacent to the restaurant. A daiquiri is a frozen cocktail
whose main ingredients are rum and liqueurs plus sugar and fruit juice.
Daiquiris are delivered
to diners at the restaurant in souvenir glasses, or visit the bar and select one of several sizes. Flavors include Strawberry, Margarita, Praline Pecan
Pie and Chocolate Frenzy, a definite sweet treat. The most popular flavor, according to Brian Williams, Island View beverage manager, is the Bushwacker, made
