Celebrating Community
In an effort to support initiatives that strengthen and uplift the Tunica community, Gold Strike Casino Resort partnered with the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office for its National Night Out Back to School Rally, held July 30. The property contributed much-needed supplies to local students and their families preparing for the upcoming school year through employee donations. Gold Strike team members also joined in on the event as a way to celebrate community, offering school supplies, food, games and music to students and their families.

Delta Blues & Heritage Festival
Harlow’s Casino Resort & Spa, a platinum sponsor of the 48th Annual Mississippi Delta Blues & Heritage Festival, hosted the official poster unveiling ceremony in the event center. “The Mississippi Delta Blues & Heritage Festival really puts Greenville in the spotlight, highlighting the city’s connection to the blues and its rich cultural heritage,” said Roscoe Greene, president and general manager of Harlow’s at the July event. The blues and heritage festival will be held in September.
Feeding Program Help
Fitz Casino & Hotel donated $5,000 in support of SHSM’s Children’s Summer Feeding Program. Fitz Vice President and General Manager Tony Scudiero presented the donation to Laura Grisham, the organization’s communications director. Grisham explained that Mississippi’s opting out to the Federal SUN Bucks program left a gap in support for thousands of eligible children and increased the need for summer feeding initiatives.
Raising Awareness
Horseshoe Tunica employees recently joined together to raise awareness of domestic violence, donating $13,109 to the House of Grace Southaven, an organization that educates and serves the needs
of women and children impacted by domestic
violence in North Mississippi. Within the donation, $1,154 came from guest contributions at the Wishing Wells located at the ticket redemption machines. Horseshoe employees Sandra Martinez Sow and Cynthia Smith presented the check to House of Grace representatives.
Plants For Charity
Beau Rivage held employee plant sales in May and June as part of Beau Rivage’s sustainability and employee engagement initiatives. The sales occurred during the horticulture team’s seasonal plant transition throughout the resort. The blue and pink hydrangeas
were made available for purchase, raising a total of $1,467, with all proceeds benefiting the MGM Resorts Foundation. Pictured with the hydrangeas are Beau Rivage employees Susan Lamey, Rick Hatt and Laura Schurb.
