April, has been a wise investment for the company. “I lived here for a while, so I know how great the Mississippi Gulf Coast is,” he said. “We have an iconic location in the Central Business District in New Orleans, and opening a Mississippi store made perfect sense. We plan to open one at OWA in Foley, Alabama later in the year.”
You can tell a lot about a place by its nachos. Seriously.
If a restaurant devotes itself to creating the perfect nacho, then there’s a really good chance they will be paying a lot of attention to the rest of the menu as well. The Serious Nachos at Lucy’s feature tortilla chips made in-house with pico de gallo, sour cream, black beans, cheese, Lucy’s Rock-a-Mole guacamole and Sue’s Spicy Queso Blanco, a white cheese sauce. You can add additional items such as ground beef, chicken, pulled pork or even fried shrimp, but the basic nachos – and there’s nothing basic about the Serious Nachos – are perfect without any additional proteins. The thing about nachos is the quest for the “perfect bite,” the bite that isn’t a bare chip and contains a “bite” of all of the toppings. There are plenty of these bites in the Serious Nachos.
Lucy’s has a menu that features the signature Juicy Lucy Burger, seafood baskets, po’boys and other culinary delights. I decided to try the Tsunami Tuna Salad, because I love seared tuna. It features seared yellowfin over spring mix with feta, cherry tomatoes,

strawberries, cucumbers and shaved onions with balsamic vinaigrette. And here’s the big reveal — it
is topped with a mound of honey-roasted pistachios. Although the salad is excellent and among one of the best I’ve ever had, the pistachios make it a next-level meal. Honey-roasted pistachios, feta, strawberries and seared tuna may be my new favorite flavor profile.
There’s a lot of fun to be had at Lucy’s. There’s live music, brunch and even a shot that features tequila and a marinated scorpion. But the food is serious – you know, seriously delicious.
