Even now in its early stages, ARtscape is broadening its horizon and looking towards the future. “We plan to
break off into even more subsidiaries, including Fanscapes, which will be an AR development company that targets stadium events such as concerts and sporting events,” Spain says. “We can see applications for AR everywhere, and the business world is no different.”
Spain’s own business card is a work of AR art. When you view the card through the app, it creates a three-dimensional plane that includes buttons to call or email him, as well as options to learn more and watch videos about ARtscapes.
Technology like this takes an ordinary Apple or Android phone and turns it
into an AR device. Using your phone’s built in camera, the app transforms your screen into a viewing portal that reacts
to your movements, creating a seamless relationship between you and what you’re viewing.
ARtscapes has already had a lot of interest in their work. From AR art
shows held at local galleries to marketing materials made for local businesses, Spain and Scanscapes CEO Robert Ramey have been very busy.
“This is truly the cutting edge of advertising,” says Ramey. “Excitement
is building, and we’re ready to meet that need. We want to continue adding more original artwork to our online store, but ideally we want to see these types of customized experiences in museums, in schools and in businesses. We can’t wait to see where the future of AR is headed.”
