Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, and Jackson County Economic Development Foundation provide the power of collaboration and leveraged resources. These partnerships will sustain Moss Point’s most enduring signature events such as the Old Time River Jamboree, Soap Box Derby, Fall-de-Rah and Christmas by the River and contribute to the structure necessary to optimize the city’s growth and quality of life potential.
DESIGN
City leaders have worked diligently to achieve noted improvements in the physical condition of the city through significant investment in utility and transportation infrastructure and riverfront enhancements. New gateway welcome signs and landscaping through downtown convey a message of pride and welcome. Leadership in architectural design is modeled through the new City Hall and the new Public Safety Building that will be another source of pride when it joins other important public facilities in the region.
PROMOTION
Moss Point has a compelling story of history and a confident future. Long recognized for its industrial stature,
the city is home to valuable economic development assets. Two of the foremost industrial sites in the region are
the Jackson County Aviation Technology Park and the
Moss Point Industrial and Technology Complex (former International Paper Company site). Trent Lott International Airport and leading companies such as Northrop Grumman Unmanned Systems, Omega Protein, VT Halter Marine
and Mississippi Export Railroad, along with a superior interstate and highway system, access to markets and a trained and available workforce (Moss Point is home to 14 percent of Ingalls Shipbuilding’s total employment), strongly position Moss Point for vibrant opportunity.
