They say that the secret ingredient
is love, a flavor you can taste and feel when you visit Pepe’s Bosque in Old D’Iberville. The restaurant is owned by father-daughter duo Estanislao “Pepe” Perez and his daughter Lilian, who put their hearts and souls into their food.
Between the solid menu, Chef Pepe’s passionate cooking and Lilian’s business sense, the restaurant has flourished
and become a local hotspot. “We feel like Pepe’s has made it to where it is today because it’s a family business that espouses family values in everything it does,” said Pepe. “We are a tight knit
family that works hard and work well together.”
The menu at Pepe’s features both Tex-Mex favorites and traditional Mexican eats. With five pages, there’s something for everyone! If you’re not sure what to try, Lilian recommends the “street” tacos, which are a more traditional form of the dish served on corn tortillas.
Another Pepe’s specialty is anything with shrimp. The shrimp ceviche is
a classic with Spanish origins that’s popular all over Latin America and consists of chopped shrimp marinated in citrus juice — which cooks them — then combined with fresh tomatoes, onion, fresh herbs and seasonings.
With fabulous food and a great atmosphere, Pepe’s Bosque has a well- earned reputation as one of the best Mexican restaurants on the Coast. If you’ve never been, do yourself a favor and try it out! Trust us – you’ll be back for seconds.
