Hancock Chamber of Commerce
The Hancock County Library System is a valued partner in education and economic development.
“We love our libraries,” said Tish Williams, executive director of the Hancock Chamber of Commerce. In Hancock County, the Library staff and volunteer board work together with the Hancock Chamber, elected officials, small business owners, students and the public at large to discover and address the needs of communities throughout the county.
“Libraries aren’t just a place of quiet study,” said Jennifer Baxter,
the new Executive Director of the Hancock County Library System (HCLS). Today’s libraries are evolving as creative and engaging community centers where people can collaborate using new technologies or just simply relax.
The Hancock County Library
System offers access to a variety of print and digital resources, including online resources that students and citizens of all ages can access in person or online with a library card, like eBooks, eAudios, technology classes, materials for English- language learners, online databases, programs for job seekers or offering a safe haven in times of crisis.
Libraries level the playing field for people of any age who are seeking the information and access to technologies that will improve their quality of life. “We listen to the communities we serve and we respond,” said Baxter.
