The kitchen and dining area are large enough for big gatherings without losing the intimate feel of being at home. “I wanted the space to be modern but livable,” said Ginger. “I think having a large gathering space separate from the bedrooms and having an informal dining space helped maximize the layout while keeping it homey.”
As with any home there are some elements that are there purely for the enjoyment of the owners, though they might be persuaded to share. In the kitchen (and in her bedside table) Ginger always stores her favorite candy: Red Hots. For Jason, she installed a draft beer dispenser stocked with Stella Artois.
Each of the home’s three bedrooms is perfectly decorated in light and airy tones, but arguably the best view is from the guest room. When Ginger’s mother comes to visit, she enjoys the view from the second floor windows overlooking the beach below.
The hallway between their 15-year-old daughter Bella’s room and the master bedroom is covered in black and white photos of the family, pets included. Some of the most striking photos are of Bella, who at a young age is already a gifted and naturally-talented dancer.
Ginger is particularly fond of squared edges, a common theme that ties the home together. These include cabinet designs by Houston Miller, the door styles and even the door knobs.
Outside of the house is a beautiful outdoors area with a living space, outdoor kitchen, pool and hot tub. Though the Keenums enjoy traveling following tax season when Jason, a CPA, can finally take a break, their backyard is an oasis in and of itself.
