joining him as a registered architect in 2019.”
Beau has worked with his father since 2011, when he
graduated from Mississippi State University. “I furthered my architectural education when I started my internship with my father,” Beau said. “He insured that I would experience all the aspects of the architectural profession.”
The two compliment each other well, with Michael having years of experience in residential, commercial, aviation and forensic architecture and Beau bringing high end graphic ability to the rm, allowing them to incorporate cutting edge technology into their concept renderings.
The LeBatards use their respective strengths in their favor, but also have their own preferences when it comes to projects. “I gravitate more toward residential design, preferring to interact one on one with the client and forming a relationship to better design the home the client will occupy,” said Beau.
While Michael began his career in residential, in the
last 15 years he has gravitated to the private and mid- level commercial client. “Aviation architecture has also become a strong aspect of the rm, having done private and commercial hangars across the Coast at all three airports. Aviation had also been a love of my father’s in his younger years, being a private pilot,” Beau continued. “The hangar designs allow him to give the owners not only a functional design, but a unique one adapted from his personal knowledge about aviation.”
No matter the project, the process begins the same way. Before any design is proposed or sketched, the LeBatards have an initial meeting to get to know the client and form an understanding of their speci c needs and goals. “We then proceed with a series of concept drawings depicting how the project ows and how the project achieves the goals set forth by the client,” said Beau. “Once construction documents have been issued, we act as the client’s agent during the bid process and construction phase.”
Exceeding client expectations is the goal for LeBatard Architecture, which includes advocating for the client throughout the construction process. Not only does having an architect promise a more aesthetically pleasing design, but it gives the client peace of mind knowing they have someone on their team who is trained to provide solutions to unique situations.
