In the mood for pizza? Dockside Deli has all-day flatbreads, including the Tsunami (pepperoni, ham, sausage and beef finished with a barbecue-ranch sauce) and the vegetarian, while 14-inch hand-tossed pizzas with choice of white or red house-made sauce can be ordered starting at 4 p.m. Create a custom pie, or go for one on the menu and be prepared for cheesy goodness on a crispy crust.
There is also a complete selection of salads
and soups. We enjoyed the seafood gumbo filled with pieces of sausage, shrimp and crawfish in
a dark roux, along with the Thursday special, creamy lobster bisque finished with sherry. Prime rib chili and loaded potato soup are also offered daily.
Salads made to impress include the chef, filled with those tasty meats and cheeses; the Greek; shrimp pasta; Island View Blue with shaved prime rib, crumbled blue cheese, walnuts, figs and grapes; and the Island Run Down loaded with coconut shrimp, grilled pineapple and pecan halves.
And daily specials include red beans and rice on Mondays, soft shell po-boys on Saturdays; and shrimp tacos available on Thursdays. The tacos, on corn tortillas, come with a black bean and purple cabbage slaw with cilantro, jalapenos and lime vinaigrette that adds the perfect zing to this delicious dish.
Plus, add a daiquiri to the meal (or have one on its own) for $5 and get the souvenir glass as a keepsake.
