The home may be soothing but
with its flair and style it’s not
boring. From the foyer where a
large silver mirror hangs over a
rustic table, through the open living space and into the bedrooms there
are interesting touches. Beautiful paintings are by artist Julie Blackwell, who grew up in Hattiesburg and now calls the Coast home. “She draws
on inspiration from nature, faith, and love, and is a self-taught artist who employs various styles and techniques,” Kristi said. “The only piece that is not Julie’s is the one above the fireplace and my mom, Dana Wittmann, painted that.”
The open spaciousness of the living room, kitchen and dining area easily lends itself to entertaining family and friends, which the Webbs like to do. In the kitchen, Kristi’s talents are especially on display showcasing why she was chosen as a recipient for the National Kitchen and Bath Association’s Top 30 Under 30 Kitchen and Bath Design Professionals in 2014. She is also the designer of the finish selections in the 2017 St. Jude Dream Home being built by Sapphire Homes.
The island and main counters are topped with white man-made quartz. A built-in unit with wine racks and an upper glass-front cabinet is topped with Calcutta gold-vein marble with antique mirror insets. Porcelain
tile used behind the cooktop and a
panel door refrigerator complete the kitchen’s seamless flow.
The adjacent dining area has a special table that was made by Christina Cooney of Distressed Designs. “She has always been crafty and into woodworking but just started building the tables in the
last year to pass the time while her husband, who is stationed at Keesler Air Force Base, is deployed,” Kristi explained.
The table is surrounded with industrial style chairs and has a striking linear chandelier overhead.
The master bedroom and bath continue the neutral color scheme and personal touches. In addition to his and her sinks and shower heads, there’s a sit-down vanity for Kristi; all designed to streamline getting ready for work each morning.
An office with French doors opening to the outside and two bedrooms with a Jack-and-Jill bath round out the downstairs space.
The outdoor kitchen is Brandon’s favorite spot, featuring a flatscreen TV, his big green egg cooker,
and soapstone counter tops in a camouflage pattern — just like those used in the new Bass Pro Shop in Memphis. Whether their grilling outside or cooking in their beautiful kitchen, the Webbs, who will celebrate their third wedding anniversary next month, are happy to be in their Biloxi home.
