GIVING BACK
OF OCEAN SPRINGS
story by Cherie Ward
What happens when you put a group of powerhouse women together and task them with helping children in their community? You get the Duchess Club of Ocean Springs, a woman-based, non-profit organization with members who are finding fun new ways to continuously give back to their beloved community.
And these ladies have a passion for compassion while devoting time, money, love, and energy to helping Ocean Springs children through various partnerships, events, outreaches, and projects.
These heroic women were recently super busy raffling off a pair of tickets to see Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and sent Caitlyn Eichler and her daughter to Ceasars Superdome in New Orleans all while raising more than $10,000 to help children throughout the City of Discovery.
The community-dedicated members also sell limited edition Christmas ornaments and hold a spring rummage sale to raise funds for scholarships to graduating high school students and youth summer camps.
And you’ve quite possibly seen the ladies of this 75-year club out and about helping to raise money for events such as Renaissance the Runway or the Jolly golf tournament, both annual fundraisers hosted by the Bacot Foundation of South Mississippi.
Or, you might have seen them volunteering with the Special Olympics of Mississippi, because no matter the cause, if it's for the good of children, the Duchess Club of Ocean Springs is always willing to lend a hand.
Find the Duchess Club of Ocean Springs on Facebook to learn more about their fabulous work.
