SCARLET PEARL CASINO CELEBRATES ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY story by Lori Beth Susman photos courtesy of Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort
Since opening in December 2015, Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort has held 11 car giveaways, served 4,253 steaks, fluffed 82,000 pillows and valet parked 246,302 vehicles. Those are just a few statistics collected to help mark the first anniversary of D’Iberville’s only casino. The resort also donated $45,000 to charity and gave away more than $15 million in casino jackpots in the past 12 months.
Scarlet Pearl is celebrating the anniversary with cake and champagne on Dec. 9 from 4 p.m. to midnight and again on Dec. 10 from noon to 10 p.m. Showgirls, who were present when the resort opened, will be part of the excitement on both days from 6 to 10 p.m.
A 2017 Chevy Camaro will be given away on Dec. 9, and on Dec. 10, the prize will be a 2017 Jeep Wrangler. On both days, players can also win thousands in Free Slot Play. Players club members are earning entries now. Those entries must be activated on the giveaway days, and the drawings on both days start at 10 p.m.
“It’s truly an honor to be celebrating our first year of
operation with our most loyal customers. We do what we do, for them,” said Roy Sous, vice president of marketing.
The resort has more than 1,350 slot machines, 45 table games and a 10-table poker room. Scarlet Pearl also features 300 hotel rooms, a miniature golf course with
a “live” volcano, an event center, pool and a number of restaurants, including Scarlet’s Steaks & Seafood where guests can enjoy a fine-dining experience.
Coming soon to Scarlet Pearl is a 1,023-space parking garage, which will provide easy access to the casino. New high-end retail outlets and a gourmet coffee/ice cream shop will also be added at the hotel front lobby during this second phase of construction. The garage is expected to open in February 2017.
“The building of our parking garage supports our commitment to ensure comfort, safety and ease of entry for our guests,” said LuAnn Pappas, CEO. “We are fortunate to move on this initiative much sooner than we expected.”
