For 20 years Jazzeppi’s has been offering one of the most romantic locations on the Coast for an Italian themed evening. It’s a place where locals and out-of-town visitors mingle, listen to jazz, and enjoy a martini or two and delicious food.
It’s snuggled away on Porter Avenue at the intersection of Howard Avenue, the longtime location of Geno’s, another famous Italian place that held its ground for more than 20 years. David and Sharon Mattina have worked hard over the years to maintain excellence, refining the menu and offering live music and a dance floor on Friday nights.
Walk in the door of Jazzeppi’s and it’s immediately apparent that this is a class act. Subdued colors, flickering candles on the tables, and sharp service — the perfect location for a special evening.
If you’re coming for one of the famous martinis (20 on the menu) and an appetizer or two, sit at the bar and enjoy the 15 choices on the bar bites menu. The pizzas are famous too, but it’s going to be a tough choice between the Italian sub, crab cake and bacon sliders, and the Italian burger. My suggestion is that you split two or three appetizers; just make sure to ask the waiter to bring them to you one at a time, not all at once. Who wants to be in a hurry?
