Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival.“It’s my favorite show of the year,” she added. “I see the same people every year so it’s like a reunion. It’s also a great opportunity to meet new people, network and take commissions.”
The 2018 People’s Choice Winner was Bay St. Louis artist Tami Curtis who says she has been painting since she “had memories.” “It’s part of me, and if I wasn’t an artist, I don’t know what I’d be,” she said.
Her contest piece “Blue Moon With My Best Friend,” features a dog and man kayaking toward the blue moon.“I had worked doing
corporate art with Guinness, Red Stripe and Fat Tire beers,” said Tammy.“I knew the fun vibe you had to bring, and I combined that with my love of the Coast and kayaking. The ‘best friend’ part was my dog because pets are such a big part of your family.”
She encourages others to enter the contest, and to come up
with something that has mass appeal. She too, will be a vendor in this year’s festival. In addition to her artwork, she also writes and illustrates children’s books which will be featured in her booth. Visit www.peterandersonfestival.com for complete Top 10 Winners.
