Mosaic Restaurant and Bar has been a staple of dining in Ocean Springs since Arturo Barajas opened the Government Street eatery in 2006. But if you haven’t been to Mosaic recently, new owner Kenny Williams and his staff are upping their culinary game with a new look, new menu items, an extensive cocktail menu, and a taproom – The Beer House. As head chef and general manager Tony Quave said, proudly, “We try to offer something for everyone.” But as Yoda, the Jedi master said, “Do or do not; there is no try.” And Mosaic definitely “does” and it does quite well.
One of the first things to know, and appreciate, about Mosaic is that the term “tapas” is deceiving. If you are expecting small plates of appetizers that aren’t for sharing or are just
for nibbling, you will be pleasantly surprised. The extensive small plate (tapas) menu features gourmet appetizers that will easily feed two people.
“We’ve expanded our base a little
bit by taking the concept that Arturo started and adding some menu items that are as locally sourced as possible,” Quave said. “And people are loving it
