“I purchased the practice from day one, right after graduation,” he said. “It was an established practice and Dr. Dean Wakham has been in business for around 30 years. The practice is well known because of him. Dr. Wakham has stayed on as an associate with
me. I was a little apprehensive about moving to the Coast after living in a big city like Atlanta, but I already love being back home. There’s a lot that makes the Coast special – it’s like a hidden gem in between New Orleans and Mobile.”
McMurphy said his clinic’s key to success is a combination of a five-star patient experience and cutting-edge technology. Wakham & McMurphy Orthodontics offers traditional braces, clear braces, and Invisalign amongst other orthodontic services.
“What sets us apart is the genuine family environment and culture that Dr. Wakham established, which is felt through both the staff and the patient care we give,” he said. “We take all
of our impressions with 3D scanners. We have two 3D printers to make all of our retainers and in-house clear
aligners. And with more esthetic options like clear braces and clear aligners, more adults are now seeking orthodontic treatment.”
Although McMurphy is proud of the high-end technology used at Wakham and McMurphy Orthodontics, he said his commitment to patient care and lasting relationships is what he is most proud of. “I love meeting new patients and beginning to invest in them.
Some come in lacking self-esteem and embarrassed of their smiles. We get to see them every six to eight weeks and watch their smiles transform. At the end of treatment, they are confident with their smiles and have gained confidence in themselves. It’s fun and very rewarding. I really think I have the best job.”
