Running with the bulls in Pamplona, sur ng in Biarritz, exploring the temples of Angkor Wat, riding elephants in Thailand – Dr. George Loukatos did all of this and more before settling down on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Born and raised just north of Boston, Loukatos found himself down south for his residency and fell in love with the Coast. After being a practicing emergency room physician, he felt that he could better help people in an urgent care. “People should not have to go to the ER unless they are in dire straits,” he states. “I knew that I could provide care to the majority of the people I saw there in a much friendlier environment and at a much lower cost.”
Now, he spends his days caring for those on the Coast, thanks to his work at AlphaCare Urgent Care. “Whether at work or in the community, helping others has always been the thing that brings me the most ful llment. Practicing urgent care medicine allows me to help people when they need it most,” Loukatos explains.
On top of that, AlphaCare works with multiple assisted living centers and nursing homes to provide care for their residents and Loukatos is also a board member of the United MSD Foundation.
