Happy New Year, South Mississippi!
Is anyone sad to see 2020 go? I think we’re all hopeful
and optimistic that 2021 will be a fresh start. Even more than most New Year’s celebrations, this year has the added weight of our expectations on its shoulders.
We’re starting the new year off right with a brand new special section, Faces of South Mississippi, where we’ll get to know some of the Coast’s familiar faces – and some not-so-familiar too. We had a blast putting this section together and learning about each of this year’s featured Coasties. Did you know that AlphaCare’s Dr. George Loukatos has participated in the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona? Neither did we!
Congratulations to Jonathan Brannan who was named Wahl’s Most Talented Beard in America. He and his family will be using the winnings to adopt another
child and expand their beautiful family. Read about the competition in the Coast Notes section, along with stories of what’s new and noteworthy in South Mississippi.
For our foodies, we have two more exciting dining reviews for you this month: A Southern Bagel Company and Killer Crab. If you have kiddos, be sure to check
out the bright and colorful creations at Southern Bagel Company! Also in the dining section, meet Drake and Chase Killingsworth, two local guys who started Killer Crab while they were still in high school and have earned massive community support.
