From antique cars and handcrafted art to twinkling lights and alien sightings, fall and winter celebrations blur the line between hometown charm and full-on spectacle. So, pack your dancing shoes, your stretchy pants, and a little holiday spirit. Down here, the year doesn’t wind down—it just gets louder, brighter, and a whole lot more fun. Let’s take a look at the crown jewels.
CRUISIN’ THE COAST
October 5–12
Nicknamed America’s Largest Block Party, Cruisin’ the Coast transforms Highway 90 into an eight-day parade of nostalgia and horsepower. Up and down the Coast, the beachside blacktop fills with thousands of vintage rides—roaring Chevys, gleaming Cadillacs, and souped-up hot rods—all cruising through a retro wonderland of live music, sock hops, and chrome dreams. It’s more than a car show. It’s a Coast tradition that draws crowds, fuels the economy, and keeps generations coming back for more.
GOULA PALOOZA
October 3, Downtown Pascagoula Every October, Pascagoula embraces its place on the paranormal map with Goula Palooza—a light-hearted nod to the infamous 1973 alien abduction. Expect intergalactic bar crawls, sci-fi dance parties, glow-in-the-dark crafts, and a galaxy’s worth of tinfoil hats. It’s small-town Mississippi meets UFO fandom, and yes—it’s out of this world.
ZONTA ARTS & CRAFTS FESTIVAL
October 4
Some festivals are stitched straight from local fabric—and this revelry is pure Coastal Mississippi.
The Zonta Arts & Crafts Festival in Downtown Pascagoula brings hundreds of vendors, live music, and enough kettle corn and pottery to fill your trunk. It’s the kind of event where you bump into old friends, meet your new favorite painter, and maybe leave with a wreath you didn’t plan on buying.
