MISSISSIPPI COUNTRY MUSIC TRAIL
Each location on this trail commemorates a legend in country music, an iconic place, or an important event. There are over 30 markers on this trail in the state, and two out of state, that honor the many contributions Mississippians have made to country music. There are even a couple stops on the trail located right here on the Coast!
You can visit mscountrymusictrail.org for a comprehensive list of every trail marker. You will also find the location of each marker on a map of the state and read a description of each marker if you can’t check them out yourself.

It’s no secret that Mississippi is known as the birthplace of the blues, and that blues has gone on to inspire modern music like rock and roll, jazz, and even country music. The trail was launched in 2006 by the Mississippi Blues Commission and tells stories through words and with

There are close to 200 markers located in the state, and over a dozen placed out of state – and some are even out of the country! Quite a few of the Blues Trail markers are located right here on the Coast, so you don’t have to go too far to start learning more.
