Casinos cookin’ something special for Mom
MISSISSIPPI — Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 12, and one way to show Mom some love is to take her out for a meal. And whether your mother figure is your mom, your stepmom, your mother-in- law, your wife, your sister, even your father or your best friend — well, whoever that person is, they are sure to feel pampered with a Champagne brunch, a festive lunch or a holiday dinner.
That’s where casinos come in. The chefs at your favorite casino have been working hard to cook up something special for the day. Options range from all-you-can-eat buffets to cafe meals and fine dining fare. And, no cleaning up for anyone.
For those restaurants suggesting reservations, make them soon. You don’t want Mom (not to mention, the rest of the family) to miss out. Just for a reminder, Mother’s Day is May 12, which is when all of these specials are available.
Scarlet Pearl Casino
Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort in D’Iberville has Mother’s Day offerings in Under the Oak Cafe. There is salmon Rockefeller ($35), baked salmon topped with creamy housemade Rockefeller and crispy bacon on jasmine rice, and filet Napoleon ($65), a 6-oz. seared filet topped with crab cake and Creole hollandaise with crispy truffle salt and peppered potatoes and shaved Brussels sprouts. Lemon meringue pie tart ($12) is the dessert feature.
Hard Rock Biloxi
Hard Rock Biloxi is hosting a special brunch buffet for Mother’s Day. On May 12, dine from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $34.99. Guests will receive complimentary champagne and mimosas. And, add three clusters of snow crab for an additional $16.99.
Treasure Bay
Treasure Bay has holiday meals everyone will love, including a Mother’s Day brunch served 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $43.19 with players club card ($25.49 without crab). The infinity buffet brunch features carved
ham, smoked sausage, baked salmon, and shrimp and grits along with Dungeness, snow and king crab legs, plus a variety of breakfast favorites. Be sure to save room for one of the special desserts. The buffet is located on the second floor.

with Sunday brunch in The
Den served 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Enjoy a three-course menu
featuring a choice of entrée:
spinach Florentine omelet ($28),
Creole crawfish omelet ($28),
grilled red snapper ($35), shrimp
and crab au gratin ($38), or 6-oz.
filet with truffle mac and cheese ($42). Each is served with soup or salad and raspberry donut cheesecake or layered chocolate mousse for dessert.
Palace Casino Resort
Palace Casino Resort has two restaurants with Mother’s Day meals. In the Palace Buffet, Mother’s Day brunch and dinner is served 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. for $33 with players club card ($35 without). Enjoy seasonal specialties plus prime rib, roasted turkey and all the favorites from the Grill, Comfort, Wok and Coastal stations. Get eggs-your-way until 3 p.m.
In Mignon’s Steaks & Seafood, from noon to 6 p.m., Mother’s Day specials include strawberry salad, lobster chowder, petite filet mignon and Chilean sea bass. Plus, there is chocolate mousse cake for a sweet treat. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (228) 432-8888 or booking at opentable.com.
Beau Rivage
Treat Mom to a Mother’s Day like no other at Beau Rivage. BR Prime offers its annual Mother’s Day brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $85 per person, plus tax and gratuity. The buffet features a presentation of classic Sunday brunch offerings, including blue crab eggs Benedict, fresh-chilled seafood, made-to-order eggs and omelets, favorites at the chef’s carving station, pastries and more, as well as bottomless Bloody Mary’s, mimosas and
champagne.
Children two and under eat free.

In addition to its weekend brunch, Salt & Ivy offers a Mother’s Day special served from 11 a.m. to midnight. This meal includes a pan-roasted chicken breast, asparagus with roasted tomato, brown rice and lemon-herb sauce
for $28.99
The Mother’s Day feature entrée
at Jia is sure to tempt the taste buds with a meal offered from 4:30 to 10 p.m. Dinner guests can enjoy Hunan chicken-broccoli stir fry with baby corn, bell
pepper and brown sweet sauce for $38.88.
Island View Casino
Island View Casino Resort has several restaurants ready to make the day memorable. All guests must be at least 21.
The Buffet will honor mom with a feast fit for a queen, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for $27.99. Enjoy peel-and-eat Gulf shrimp; ham and cheese omelets; bananas foster French toast; sliced lamb roast; and orange chicken with spring vegetables, along with traditional favorites from the Asian, Southern, and Italian stations. And for the finale don’t forget the house-made gelatos, custards and ice creams from the dessert bar.
C&G Grille will mark the day with brunch served from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $26. The meal will begin with a choice of Caesar or green salad or shrimp and crab bisque. Choose an entrée of either low- and slow-smoked pork tenderloin with merlot syrup, sweet potato mash served with green beans amandine, or crispy catfish Oscar, a fresh fried fillet topped with crabmeat and hollandaise sauce served with asparagus. Last, but not least, chocolate cake for dessert.
Dockside Deli, in Beach View Casino, will have a Mother’s Day menu from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $24. Start with a choice of seafood gumbo or fruit salad. For the entrée, choose either a Gulf Coast blue crabmeat omelet topped with a blood orange
