Jana Lumpkin owns a 42-year-old business, the Shoe Boutique, which she purchased in 2020. She worked for and was inspired by the prior owner, Joyce Whitfield.
“I have also been inspired by getting to know other women business owners through the Bay St. Louis Old Town Merchants Association,” she says. “It’s not easy being a small business owner these days, but working together and helping each other we can build our own unique businesses.”
Putting people in good-looking shoes is something she loves about her work. She is now carrying a small inventory of clothes in her shop too.
Lumpkin says she has a great family and also lists her husband, Danny Lumpkin, as someone who has inspired her to be her best. A member of the Choctaw Native American
tribe, she enjoys being with her husband and daughter and their dogs. She and her husband have participated in Cruisin’ the Coast for 20-plus years.
Fallen Officers is a community cause she really believes in. The Lumpkin family enjoys exploring the newest restaurants on the Coast, supporting local shops, and making the most of life in the Bay.
