What would you like our readers to know about your business? It ain’t easy.
What do you like best about what you do?
Being able to grab an outfit, jewelry, hat and shoes whenever I want.
What sets your business apart from others in the same field? Anyone can sell clothes. What makes California Drawstrings special is the experience customers have when they come into one of my stores, a place where they feel comfortable and like they belong.
Tell us about one valuable lesson you learned along the way: Don’t hire your friends.
Is there anything you would change to make the Coast better? There is nothing that angers me more than to see slab after slab in Gulf Coast communities 10 years after hurricane Katrina. We can rebuild Iraq but we can’t make it possible to rebuild here. The states need to come up with some kind of insurance subsidy so people can come home and rebuild.
As a child, what did you dream of becoming when you grew up? A jockey (enough said!).
