to determine whether you need a traditional iron
set or a mixed set that may contain a combination of hybrids and irons. Also, many players play a wedge combination that does not suit the rest of their irons. We recommend a 4-5 degree gap between wedges for maximum distance control. For example, if someone plays a 46 degree pitching wedge, the ideal wedge combination would be 46 degree pitching wedge, 50 degree gap wedge, 54 degree sand wedge, and 60 degree lob wedge. Many amateurs have large
gaps in their wedges that they are not even
aware of.
We also use a software program to take the guesswork out of shaft fitting, the Mizuno Shaft Optimizer. In just a few swings,
the Shaft Optimizer records five critical data points that make up your unique “Swing DNA.” A patented software program then takes the guesswork out
of the fitting equation by analyzing that “Swing DNA” and quickly and easily identifying the perfect shaft, shaft flex, iron model, and set make-up that can immediately help you play better.
At the end of the day, a properly custom fit set of clubs gives a golfer peace of mind and confidence to hit their shots without wondering if their equipment is part of the problem.

Iam not good enough to get custom-fit” is the refrain of so many golfers who buy their irons off the rack. Many amateurs believe their swing inconsistencies make custom fitting difficult or irrelevant. In fact, it is
“probably more important for high handicap players to be custom fitted than a low handicap player. The reason a lot of people hit it sideways is because
they haven’t been custom-fitted. Trying to figure
out the swing with clubs whose length, weight, lie angle, shaft flex or grip size don’t match the body encourages players to make unnatural compensations that prevent them from developing proper mechanics.
Time and expense are two more reasons golfers
don’t consider getting custom-fit. Generally a private session with a certified club fitter takes at least an hour, and the iron set built for you typically costs about $150 more than a comparable set. We believe we can figure out everything we need to know during a 30-45 minute session, and the cost is very reasonable compared to independent club fitters.
Only during a complete fitting are factors such as face angle, launch angle, spin rate, ball speed, attack angle and club path scrutinized to discover the head-shaft combination that optimizes distance and consistency. We use Trackman technology, the number one Launch Monitor/Golf Radar/HD Golf Simulator for swing and ball flight tracking and analysis.
One of the major issues with buying clubs off the rack without proper fitting is set makeup. During a complete fitting we can utilize Trackman technology
