The Coast has been my home since July 4th weekend of 2005 after graduating from the University of Florida with a Master of Education in Special Education. A month after moving here and starting my first teaching job, Katrina came in and changed all of our lives. During the recovery, I found the residents on the Mississippi Gulf Coast had something very special. Most with no possessions remaining, would
have given the shirt off their backs. After seven years of teaching with Biloxi Public Schools and earning a Master of Business Administration from William Carey University, I decided to make a career change where I feel I’m still able to give back to the Coast that took care of me.
