Summer in South Mississippi can be a magical experience. The days are hot and long and one can always find plenty of things to do, from sunrise and beyond. And the nights can definitely hold their own. Here’s a sampling of some of the many things to do after dark in South Mississippi.
The Whiskey Bar
Charred
Boogie Nights
If shooting pool is your thing, then QuarterDeck Bar is the
place to be. Located on Jeff Davis Ave., the QuarterDeck hosts several professional tournaments throughout the year. QuarterDeck also offers trivia nights and karaoke.
The Whiskey Bar on Davis Ave. is a great place to enjoy an artisan cocktail with a friend. Stop by on Monday nights and put your brain power to use at Trivia Night.
Downtown Bay St. Louis has several places for food, fun and cocktails. Hit up Dan B. Murphy’s Restaurant and Bar or The Blind Tiger for great drinks and great views of the Bay of St. Louis.
The Mockingbird Café and The Ugly Pirate are two other notable haunts.
Chandeleur Island Brewing Co.
Jack’s by the Tracks is a “modern juke joint” on Krebs Ave., and is host to some of the best live music on the Coast, with acts like Mollie Thomas and The Rare Birds making regular stops. It’s also home to some of the best sushi on the Coast.
Downtown Ocean Springs is one of the most popular spots for night life in South Mississippi. With
bars and eateries such as Charred and Glory Bound Gyro Co. lining Government and Washington streets, Downtown Ocean Springs is reminiscent of a university town without the school.
PRL Bar at the Scarlet Pearl is always open. Stop in for a drink and catch the big game on one of the biggest screens. PRL also has a 144-square-foot entertainment center.
Biloxi Brewing Company on Bohn St. is the perfect spot to gather
with some friends after hours and enjoy some locally-brewed beer. It is home to craft beers such as Biloxi Pale Ale and Salty Dog.
The casinos in Biloxi also have several night life options, including Boogie Nights at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Eight75 at Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, and Chill at IP Casino Resort Spa.
Chandelier Island Brewing Company on 14th St. hosts the annual Chandy Fest, a craft
beer and live musical festival in Downtown Gulfport. It is also home to a microbrewery that brews unique craft beers such as Freemason Golden Ale and Lil Smack as well as a host of seasonal brews.
