Pass Christian’s Hometown Hero

“I joined the police force in Pass Christian in 1989 as a reserves officer,” he said. “I’m a full-time officer with the department these days. I have five children and two of my kids are in law enforcement — one is a security officer with
the Air Force and one works for

of Dedeaux’s life, he said, is his family. He and his wife, Shawanda, recently celebrated 10 years of marriage with a reception at the West Harrison Community Center in Pass Christian. There was food and cocktails and dancing, but mostly there was love.
“I love working in the schools,” he said. “I get to spend a lot of time working with kids and, hopefully, I’m able to reach some and keep them from making bad decisions, encouraging them to do something better for themselves.
