The DuPont company has had a name change. Chemours Company, a global chemical company with leading market positions in titanium technologies, fluoroproducts and chemical solutions, announced the completion of its spin-off from DuPont and its launch as
CHANGEan independent, publicly traded corporation. The Chemours manufacturing site on Kiln-DeLisle Road, Pass Christian, is
part of this new company.

The Chemours site in Harrison County supports the Chemours titanium technologies business and produces titanium dioxide (TiO2) pigment, used as a whitening agent in paints, paper, and plastics. The site has been in operation since 1979 and is one of the largest TiO2 plants in the world. The site has 1,000 acres maintained as a wildlife habitat.
