Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic presented by C Spire has now raised over $1 million for local charities

On the heels of a tremendous 2015 Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic Presented by C Spire, tournament officials announced today more winners. Through the tournament’s Birdies for Charity Program, $22,808 was raised benefitting Bethel Free Health Clinic, St. Vincent DePaul Pharmacy, South Mississippi Planning & Development District and five other local charities. A total of 647 birdies were recorded by Champions Tour players during the three- round tournament.
This year’s Birdies for Charity total, and the $125,000 donation to Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, brings the tournament’s charitable impact to the Mississippi Gulf Coast region to more than $1 million in the history of the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic Presented by C Spire.
“We are extremely proud to have made an impact of more than $1 million in charitable contributions to this great community,” said Steve Nieman, Tournament Director. “The Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic Presented by C Spire is an active member of the Mississippi Gulf Coast region. One of our goals each year has been to have a positive impact in the community where we live and work. The fact that we have been able to give back in such a way is a source of pride
and accomplishment for the MGRC Foundation and the tournament staff.”
