The weather’s great, so dive right on in and enjoy a basket of tasty barbecue ribs or loaded nachos. The Silver Slipper Casino Hotel Beach Bar and Smokehouse Cafe is now open for the season and features the best in smokehouse favorites.
Those who’ve enjoyed the resort’s Jubilee Buffet are familiar with the smoked meats and dishes that are offered regularly. Get those same smoky flavors with ribs, brisket, pulled pork and more offered at the outdoor Smokehouse Cafe. Located adjacent to the hotel, the cafe is part of the popular Beach Bar, where guests can pull up a stool and enjoy a cool drink while taking in views of the Gulf.
The bar also has several TVs that show sporting events. Competing for attention, though, are rolling waves, fluttering birds and colorful skies. Beverages are plentiful at the full bar, and include the Easy Breeze Ale, a Lazy Magnolia offering that can only be found at the Silver Slipper. The ale is light and flavorful with an easy- breezy taste that complements the relaxed atmosphere found at the bar.
And when hunger calls, it’s easy
to place an order for a half-rack of smoked ribs, the brisket or pulled pork sandwich, the cheeseburger deluxe or the Slipper’s hot dog or gator dogs. The barbecued meat on the brisket is tender and melt-in-your-mouth with each bite, while the ribs are fall-of-the- bone delicious. The Cafe also offers nachos loaded with pulled pork and grilled trout tacos, which come two
to an order and feature soft tortillas stuffed with perfectly cooked fish with tomatoes, onions and a tangy sauce.
All meals come with a choice of baked beans, potato salad and coleslaw — all made fresh on property each day — or chips.
Guests can eat at the bar or at any of the colorful tables. On Thursdays, guests at the bar can take in the motorcycles, jeeps, hot rods and classic cars that come to the beachside parking area for Rumble on the Gulf, and enjoy live entertainment from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. And,
the Beach Bar Blowout Music Series features live music every Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.
