bar top made of black walnut but everything else ties
in with the sports bar concept the homeowners had in mind for the room. There’s a large wall piece by local sculptor Spencer Grey and a fish mobile made by the homeowner’s daughter, who’s a mechanical engineer. One adorable piece is the sculpture of Champ, a beloved family dog, that was commissioned to look exactly like him.
The master bedroom and bath are on the main level
and wood does play a role, but the atmosphere is warm and elegant with black and brown patterned drapes and pillows.
The back porch, which runs the length of the house, is
a show stopper with its unobstructed view of the lake. A wildlife biologist helps keep the lake’s fish healthy. The family likes to host fishing events such as the recent bass tournament for special needs children. The lake is also fun for swimming.
Beautiful wood, including the coffee table made from the root ball of a teak tree (upper left), gives this home warmth and personality.
