“If one of us is having a bad day, we can go outside to learn. It changes everyone’s demeanor to have class on the beach or sit in a tree and read,” Ratliff said.
Studies by the National Home Education Research Institute indicate that children who are homeschooled score up to 39 percentile points higher on standardized achievement tests, and more than 65 percent are college graduates.
