BOTH MODERN AND POST-MODERN furnishings blend awlessly and compliment the home’s design. A large art collection of various media are on display throughout this one-of-a-kind home.
painted a pale blue, Eames chairs, a Hans Wegner glass cabinet, and a chair and ottoman covered in a cheerful bird print fabric.
The kitchen was updated a few years ago to better accommodate Ted’s love of cooking, but it maintains its mid- century style. The cabinets and counter tops are white, but Karen infused the room with colorful glassware.
Also, one bathroom was modernized with all the latest conveniences while another bathroom is still a page from the past, complete with yellow tile on the walls.
The bedrooms are restful with soft colors and textures and as in all the rooms, lots of artwork. One interesting piece is a large African fabric design given to Ted during his Peace Corps days by an African chief.
An upstairs room has beautiful
pecan floors original to the house and Murano glass light fixtures. Of special interest is a framed telegram from 1922 that announced the birth of Ted’s late father. This bright room opens onto a rooftop deck with comfortable chairs, pots of cactus and a great view in two directions.
