Jay did not see Bump Brow again until he began hunting this year. “I later learned that this deer had moved to my neighbor’s land but I saw that it had finally reappeared when checking my trailcams. I was amazed to see how big this deer had grown.”
Suffice to say, he made plans to stalk the deer that very day hoping luck was finally with him. It was, as that evening the deer showed back up.
“Once again, I had a pretty easy shot but after my last experience I decided to take my time.” He aimed his .308 Savage, watched the deer until he had a good shot, took a deep breath, squeezed the trigger, and bagged his targeted deer
“My buddy, hunting in another stand, heard the shot and texted me asking if I had got the deer and if it was the big one,” Jay said. “It was. This deer was huge, scoring over 135! I felt like I was hunting up north where it’s much more likely to find a deer this size.”
When asked about being spoiled he replied, “I’ve hunted this 1000 acres for the past 20 years. I’ve seen other big deer so I’m determined to get another big one. But even if I don’t, I’ll enjoy trying.”
