Does anybody really know what time it is? Rapiscan time! Hall of Fame golfers will again unpack their travel bags and tee off at Fazio’s Fallen Oak March 23-29 at the Rapiscan Systems Classic presented by Coastal Mississippi. The event has become a 24/7 or should I say “25 or 6 to 4” party with events every day from morning until night.
PGA TOUR Champions converge on the Coast for one of the biggest golf events of the year.
T he $16 million-dollar-impact tournament focuses on “Community, Culture and Charity” and honors military and first responders with every detail.
“We acknowledge the importance of creating a communal atmosphere,” said Tournament Director Steven Schoettmer. Over 800 volunteers help him do just that.
The PGA Tour Champions is all about generosity. Since 2010, the Rapiscan Systems Classic, formerly the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic, has raised more than $2.7 million for local charities in Coastal Mississippi. Fans will witness that first-hand as they walk alongside some of the greatest players the game has ever seen.
The Bacot McCarty Foundation and Chevron will host the ever-popular Junior Clinic at Shell Landing Monday, followed by the Caliburn Hero Challenge at Bay Breeze Golf Course, Keesler AFB Tuesday. Mickey Bradley and his band of brothers (and sister) will again feed pro-am players on Wednesday and Thursday at the SRO 6th tee.
Oh yeah, the professionals tee off Friday in quest of the $1.6 million dollar
purse. Hall of Fame golfers and
musicians highlight the day-and-
night festivities all week at the 2020 version of Coastal Mississippi’s grass party. Caliburn and Ingalls Shipbuilding will bring back the Patriots’ Pavillion
for members of homeland security, first responders, and U.S. military, active, reserve and retired during the tournament proper.
The 2020 Rapiscan Systems Classic promises a full week of festivities that golfers and non- golfers won’t want to miss.
