The three sisters who own and operate Cheeky Monkey Cake Company think of their cakes as art that’s also good-tasting food. Jennifer Noble, lead designer and sugar artist, said, “We have custom paintings on the wall and our cakes are like that. No two are alike. We customize our cakes and want them to be special for each client.”
Catherine Bublik is the sister who’s the baker and third sister Christine Love works the front of the shop. The trio creates wedding cakes, birthday cakes and
special event cakes.
Their edible lace product sets Cheeky Monkey apart from other bakeries. “It’s beautiful, and
as far as I know we’re the only one around here doing it,” Noble said. “It has a true lace look. For wedding cakes we may copy lace that’s on the bride’s dress.”
Often these creative bakers use something the bridal couple likes to personalize wedding cakes, such as the traditional cake that had Batman peeping out from the flowers crowning the
cake.
Last October Cheeky Monkey re-located to the Biloxi side of Debuys Road, a move they
describe as “moving home” since the sisters were born and reared in Biloxi.
