ROMANCE & WEDDING evolving love
Friendship leads to fairy tale romance for cover bride
story by Lynn Lofton photo courtesy of Brandy Jarvis
four-year friendship evolved into love, resulting in a fairy tale proposal for Brandy Jarvis and Michael Ibos. The fairy tale will be complete when their wedding takes place April 1 at Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral with a reception at The White House Hotel.
The couple met while they were students at the University of Southern Mississippi where both earned Bachelor’s Degrees in Business Administration and were active campus leaders. “We started out as friends
and over time our love grew to the point we couldn’t imagine life without each other,” Jarvis said.
“Brandy is an outgoing, energetic woman who encourages me to be the best version of myself,” Ibos said. “Life with her
is truly an adventure.”
Jarvis says there is nothing she would change about Ibos. “He keeps me
grounded and is always there to catch me when I fall.”
Ibos proposed to Jarvis with a photo album containing a fairy tale
story about the couple, including photos from the four years of memories they’ve shared. The end of the book read, “As we all know, every fairy tale deserves a happily ever after....”
“As I turned to the final page Michael got down on one knee and read the final page that was adorned with a two-carat diamond ring,” Jarvis recalls. “‘Will you be my happily ever after and marry me?’ he asked and I answered with a joyful teary eyed ‘Yes!’”
The couple is excited about a special part of their reception décor — a custom marquis sign produced by the metal and lights company famous for on-stage marquis letters seen during the
AMC awards. Guests are asked to share photos on social media with the hashtag #ido2ibos.
“Our honeymoon will be spent on the beautiful Hawaiian Island of Kauai
at an exclusive five-star resort that Michael is keeping as a surprise for me,” Jarvis said.
Jarvis is the daughter of Kevin and Shelley Migues Jarvis of Ocean Springs, and Ibos is the son of Kris Ibos and Kathy Grant Ibos of New Orleans, La.
Ibos is the client solutions manager at Freeman Expositions, Inc. and Jarvis is an NFL Cheerleader for the New Orleans Saints and also does modeling and acting in New Orleans.
